Whole Bean: Whole coffee beans are used for grinding at home or in a coffee shop. These beans haven’t been ground yet and can be used for any preparation method.
Medium coarse “pour over / Chemex”: This grind is used for drip coffee methods, such as pour over and Chemex. A coarser grind allows water to flow evenly through the coffee for optimal extraction.
Medium “machine drip / siphon”: This grind is used for drip machines or siphons. A medium grind provides a balance between extraction and acidity in the coffee.
Fine “espresso”: This grind is used for preparing espresso in espresso machines. A finer grind allows water to slowly seep through the ground coffee for a more complete extraction.
